We also purchased a thriving worm farm from a fellow in London who has four kids, including a 13-month old baby, and with the city's new composting program, feels content to recycle their kitchen waste that way. Bonus for us! Our atrium plants will be loving the in-house, all natural, nutrient boost. 
​Today has been more a working day, updating files and still working to expand our online presence and advertising. Being minimally adept at computer technology, I depend heavily on my daughter to help me. Her patience is heartening and much (more than she can ever imagine!) appreciated as I fumble along like an unfocused, untrained puppy out for a walk on a new leash! Thanks, Kate ... you're the BEST! I will try to keep more up to date, but I know I'll still need prodding now and then.

]]><![CDATA[Autumn is Upon Us]]>Sun, 15 Sep 2024 12:19:52 GMThttps://www.bentpathgetaway.ca/bentpathblog/autumn-is-upon-usThe summer seems to have evaporated and we are already half way through September in the blink of an eye.  With the changing seasons, cooler nights and still warm (or hot!) days, the leaves are beginning to show some colour and fall produce is being offered in abundance.

The harvest season also welcomes the annual fall fairs and pow-wows in the area.

If you are looking for something to do, it isn't too far a drive to reach any of the farming communities where you can enjoy the sights and sounds, not to mention the foods. Many memories can be made walking the paths lined with trucks and stalls offering cotton candy or a game of chance or skill where you might just win a big stuffed toy to carry home. Check out Wyoming, Forest, and Brooke-Alvinston fairs this month. Don't forget the famous Brigden Fair next month!

The Harvest Moon PowWow on Walpole Island is where you can experience some of the best dancers and drums which the Great Lakes have to offer. Come support local First Nation Craft and Food vendors. This a free and open event to the public, donations are greatly appreciated!

Autumn flies by quickly, so get out there and enjoy the sunshine! Bask in the nostalgia, be open to new experiences, and make some wonderful memories.

With just a few last minute details left to wrap up, we are already accepting bookings for Bed & Breakfast guests as well as group retreats. The atrium can also be booked for your next meeting or seminar.

Over the next short while our website will be under renovation to bring all our information up to date with professional pictures and a crisp new format. In the meantime, if you would like to reserve a room, please email us and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.
Here's a peek inside, starting with the 700²ft atrium which will offer tropical ambiance in all four seasons. The kitchenette is well equipped with a full size fridge, electric range, microwave, dishes, etc. for our guests to use.

It has been a long wait, but from here on, the finishing work should go quickly. There is still electrical, plumbing, drywall, painting to complete, plus pouring patios back and front of the atrium and outside both main floor bedrooms. Then the landscaping will be the final step to an entirely new look.
